When asking current and past daycare clients the question “What was it about Lil' Rugrats that wanted you to send your child here?” Here are some responses.
* Fate! Fate is how i met Ms. Amber and the lil' Rugrat family. I cant give you any one reason why this was the right place for me and my son, what i can tell you is its simply the best place for us. I never worry about my son, and as a parent that's really unheard of, but when I drop Clayten off i truly feel like he's going to a family members house. I know he's loved, cared for, and in good hands. Earlier this year my son was diagnosed with Autism and Ms.Amber was with me every step of the way, she held me up when i felt like falling, she saw the worry in my eyes and reassured me that everything would be ok, she understands my son and to me that means the world for Clayten. If theres one thing i can tell you, I've been so blessed to have Ms.Amber in my life. There simply are not enough words to describe my gratitude for people like you guys, for the amazing work you do, and for truly loving the kids you care for. ---Judi, Claytens mom
*You were very smart, nice and your place seems very nice, clean and you had a love of kids!
*Lil' rugrats daycare is the closest thing to me staying at home with the kids that I could ask for. The love, care, and attention my child receives on a daily basis is everything a Mother could ask from a caregiver. Amber always listens to my concerns and makes every effort to recreate the days we have while at home. Due to the intimate care your child receives, she works with you to tailor the daily schedule to best meet your child's individual needs. As a first time Mother, she sent pictures, words of encouragement and updates as needed to help me adjust to going back to work. She also has been a tremendous resource for bouncing off ideas and understanding various stages in my child's development. I truly believe we made the best decision choosing Lil' Rugrats daycare. We cannot thank Amber & Dave enough for all they do!!! -Jennifer, Williams Mom
* i was specifically looking for an at home daycare facility that had the structure of what you find in the typical large daycare center facility but with the warmness that you would have in your own home. Immediately after visiting Amber's daycare i was impressed by the structure and organization she implements throughout. The center was completely kid friendly with stations for every activity. Her schedule incorporated everything from creative play, art and learning. I also really liked that my daughter would get the 1:1 attention which i feel can be compromised with big centers. The children were all so polite, calm and relaxed (not that hectic feeling you get from larger centers). A simpler way to say it is that i just knew it was the perfect place for my Lil Rugrat!
* It was a private in home daycare. Clean. And it was a friend of a friend.
* The at home atmosphere. The fact that a friend had sent her children there. I loved the text picture updates. I liked the newsletters. Your place was clean and there was a lot of structure. I liked that even though there was a wide range of age in the kids each child had a routine that would meet their needs and age appropriate. I also liked knowing well balanced meals were being provided.
* The family/home atmosphere and how close you are to our house.
* Initially it was the high rating on the website and the only violations that I found were minute. Lil Rugrats is literally moments away from my home and I felt more comfortable with a smaller environment than those of larger places. After I met with y'all, I loved how down to earth you seem. You are realistic and truly reflected the things I believe I want for this child. You are no-nonsense yet seem to avoid being mean or hurtful to a child's mental state and well-being. You support healthy eating, learning, and play. You have structure, with the realization that plans change and stuff happens. All in all, I felt comfortable and safe and, coming from my line of work, that is very important because I believe my child will feel similarly. I also enjoy that you seem to have open communication with your clients. On a personal note, I admire your drive and goals. I was impressed by your opening your own child care and your desire to eventually expand. I truly could not imagine there is a better choice for my child.
*I always wanted to send my kids to an in home licensed daycare since I grew up in that environment. After we met with you we felt like we could trust you and that you would give them the best care. When we interviewed others and eventually went somewhere new it became evident that you do provide the best care for our children.
